The youth chess club has existed since 1822, and lessons are in Dutch, so children must speak and understand Dutch well. 1

Trainers are certified: all have completed Trainerscursus 1 of the national chess federation and most also Trainerscursus 2. 4 5 Youth members play an internal competition in level groups, and youth teams play in the external club competition against clubs from the Amsterdam region, 7 matches a season. 6

    2. een volledige schaakpartij kunnen spelen. Ook is het belangrijk dat ze goed Nederlands spreken en
    3. begrijpen, want de schaaklessen zijn uiteraard in het Nederlands.
    4. Bij VAS krijgen de kinderen les van gecertificeerde trainers. De trainers hebben allemaal Trainerscursus 1
    5. van de nationale schaakbond gevolgd, en de meesten hebben ook Trainerscursus 2 voltooid.
    6. Verder spelen de jeugdleden een interne competitie in niveaugroepjes.
    7. VAS speelt met jeugdteams mee aan de externe clubcompetitie. Hier spelen we tegen andere verenigingen
    8. uit onze regio (Groot-Amsterdam). Gedurende het seizoen gaat het om 7 wedstrijden, waarvan 4 op
    9. We vragen van nieuwe leden dat ze de loop van de stukken al beheersen en
